The times when everything did not have to make sense... Its about the situations, the conditions, the hypocrisy, the tolerance, the madness and our own unimaginable cruelty to mankind. As i said... its about the times when not many things made sense.. and neither did History till then.... but always hoping that someday our future will.

Welcome to MBA !!!

First Day at MBA

We were totally confused on what was happening. The feeling had just struck us that we are in for some work the whole night.
It took some time to sink into our minds that tomorrow we have to make a presentation. Not by the weirdest thought were we prepared to hear what we had just heard.

Now wait a minute...

"WHAT PRESENTATION?", I asked to myself.
"A product launch".....
"How can this be possible. Aren't they supposed to teach us first."

Everybody was talking to the next person next to him, confirming what the waves had just struck their ears.

We were smiling at each other though it wasn't funny by the slightest look around the class where we were all seated.
I was thinking about the day before, when I had called my college, to confirm the date of our induction program. It seemed that all I had to do was to attend the function and return home. Home was all I could think of coming back at that time.

Well, off course. It was just an induction program, where we would have to sit through some speeches and commitments and bye bye, see you tomorrow. Our college lectures would start the other day. What else would I think about. Though I went to the extent of asking, "Do we need to carry something along with me?". The reply was not as enthusiastic as I was, while asking, but nevertheless, I went empty handed.

Sitting in the class then, I was thinking how grossly I had underestimated the college and the course. We were given those speeches and commitments. I was bang on target in pre-fetching that. But what happened next would not even come close to my wildest of thought. We were told to assemble in our class room where further instructions would be given. I said to my friend next to me, "What are they going to do next in the class? They have already done enough."

Then came the blow. The director of our institute walked in. His personality and appearance would give you all the wrong vibes about the person we were about to confront. Though, I must say, he is a crowd puller. In fact a crowd snatcher. Love him or hate him, you cannot ignore him. His words struck like swords then, and they usually do now.

"I am dividing you into 10 groups of 9 each. Come down one group by one and we are giving you some free books. When you come down, the each group has to think about a product and come. All that group has to do is to prepare a PRODUCT LAUNCH presentation and give it tomorrow."
The smile on his face said it all.

He then said after a brief pause, "WELCOME TO MBA ! ! !"

Now we were frozen. All of us. What, product launch..... tomorrow........ group presentation......

We hardly knew anybody there. What groups are we going to get.

Then someone talked something about the dress code upon which he remembered something important that he forgot to announce.

He made sure everybody was quiet first, as it seemed like a pandemonium.

"The Dress code has to be complete formals. Boys in Ties and girls in Sarees", he said.

"Sir, I dont have Saree. I have never worn one", said one girl sitting somewhere near to where he was standing.

He smiled at her, and said "No problem, buy one today."
