Thinking about life.. and what does that depend on.. makes me ask various questions in my mind.
What is Life about? - What is Quality of Life? - What does Quality of Life depend on?
I wouldnt know all the answers.. but I know definitely that one thing that it depends on is what you are as a human being and what u dream of becoming. You might not do lot of things, but in this bad bad world, not doing bad is good. Hence I would argue that not doing anything is also adding to goodness, since at least you are not doing bad and making things worse.
Not many would accept this ideology, but its simple equation of keeping bad constant and not adding more to it. Its like, if u cant add value.. dont spoil it.
There may be some who think that doing good only improves quality. But then, good actions in isolation doesnt mean anything if you don't have a bigger picture and dream big.
Anyways, would love to know what others think about quality of life and what it depends on?

was jus wondreina t the formula suggested by u...and it sounds UNFAIR and BIASED to me... hw can u hold a constant and thn keep on changing the other variable...by any chance are u putting a "ceteris paribus: thr as an assumption?? thn i think UR theory will qualify to be a theory... but then yaar aise toh u can just not do anything negative just to keep the positive intact...y not have a level playing field...or r we already sure tht the negative will overtake!!!

and to answer ur concluding question...quality of life is doing wat i want to and nnot wat i m suppose to...the litmus test is "whether i can sleep peacefully"...it depends on ME. :)

@LOF : Yes, ofcourse there are assumptions to this theory. the asumption is, that everyone will understand the theory.... lol
Interesting point when you say about the litmus test that it depends on what YOU want to do. Isnt that what everyone is doing anyways. Isnt that SELFISH !!!! Isnt that what the politicians do and what the terrorists of the world do. They do sleep peacefully.. but who will think about the environment and others. This way, when everyone does things only for themselves, then how will the world improve. Anyways.. I guess thats too much to ask if you never thought it that way. The reason I said to keep negative constant is, if u think selfishly at least dont do anything bad for others, if u cant do anything GOOD.
